Yesterday, December 5, the final audition of Miss Universe Akita was held in Akita City. The winner was 22 years-old Miss Eriko Yoshii from Akita City!
She was chosen to represent our prefecture to proceed to the national competition, which will be held in Osaka City on April 1. She will be competing with 16 other candidates from other cities to become the Miss Universe Japan.
Akita hosted the very first Miss Universe Japan audition this year as part of an effort to promote Akita Bijin (related post), Akita beauties to the world. 32 young women entered in the competition, which was narrowed down to 10 on the semi-final and the beauty camp last month.
Let’s hope that our Akita Beauty will be selected to represent Miss Universe Japan!
