Dakigaeri Gorge

Dakigaeri Gorge, known as one of the best scenic viewpoint of the autumn leaves in Tohoku region, features the cliffs covered in warm hues of red, orange, and yellow and a large body of turquoise water running through the primitive forests and the magnificent waterfalls. Mikaeri-no-taki, ''the waterfall of looking-back,'' is named after its unforgettable beauty which is worth ''looking-back''. It is also known for the excellent hiking trails during the summer time.

I would love to view it myself one day.

I believe that there were photos of the gorge exhibited at the tourist centre at Tazawako station, right?

Yes!!! There were! Thank you! It is photographed by a local artists, Kazuo Nanba. We will also have his photo exhibition in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The feeling of appreciation of the nature is universal in any language, so I hope it will transcend the cultural differences and many people will find it beautiful :)
