Momoya's Brown Rice Lunch for the Healthy-Minded People

Momoya (ももや) is a Japanese restaurant located in front of JR Tazawako Station within a minute walk. Momoya retains its uniqueness among restaurants in Tazawako area, for the exquisite cooking style!

Momoya serves dinner on reservations only, but the lunch is available for walk-in guests as well. The lunch meals varies and available from around 1,000 yen.

Momoya serves exceptionally delicious meals! Here you can have Akita's traditional food -both noodles and rice - accompanied with a main dish of meat or fish. A vegetable-oriented meal is available as well, which has been especially designed for those who seek for more healthy eating.

If you are someone who prefer brown rice, you might be surprised: Brown Rice is rarely served in Japanese restaurant! Momoya is, however, one of the few Japanese restaurant where it is served in a meal: Brown Rice Special is inspired by healthy eating styles such as macrobiotics, which heavily relies on vegetables, beans, and fish.

Here is another example of Momoya's Lunch Combination. This, on the other hand, is served with steamed white rice with Akauo ("red fish"), a kind of sea beam pickled in sake lees then broiled.
