Finally, the plaza in front of JR Tazawako Station has been illuminated!
Last night was our lightening ceremony, which gathered a group of locals who have contributed to this project as well as some passer-by who gave us two-thumbs-ups and smiles. After a great deal of obstacles and troubles we had to face with, we finally met our goal--- to make this happen by Christmas!
Yes, we know.. it was very last-minute... and very humble.. Yet, this is only the begining of our new project to energize the neighboring area. For the next year, we will surely make this event even more cheerful and elaborated.
We were supported by a team of volunteers lead by Shoei Taguchi, headmaster of Tazawako Ski School. Contributions and donations were made by technicians from the local electric corporation, Taenoyu managers, president of retail food store and staffs of Tazawako Ski Area. We are so grateful to those who made this possible.
We hope this would bring smiles to all the visiters of Tazawako area. Happy Holidays!
(The illumination will last until middle of March, 2010.)
