The 8th of every month is a special pastry day at Bee Skep, a honey store near Lake Tazawa. It is because the number 8 is 'hachi' which could also mean "honey bees'! Every month the pastry chefs come up with a delicious new pastry item and make it available for us! Yum!
July was the Blueberry Éclair, which had a layer of custard and daily cream sweetened with blueberry honey and served with the large blueberries from Econiko Farm of Tazawako Art Village.
Blueberry Honey is a honey collected from the blueberry blossoms. The mild sweetness and tangy blueberry flavor perfectly match!
Pastry of the Month is available on the 8th every month from 9 a.m. Only 200 orders are available to walk-in customers on a first-come-first-served basis. No reservation or delivery orders are accepted.
Let us wait for the next one on August 8th. Might be something special, because it is ‘Hachi-Hachi’ (8/8), which makes the day extra special for the bee (‘hachi’) business!
