Blueberry Picking at Art Village

July is blueberry month in northern Tohoku region.

Nearby blueberry farm, Nikoniko Noen (ニコニコ農園)is on the premise of Tazawako Art Village (田沢湖芸術村), located next to Shinrin Kogeikan (森林工芸館).

Nikoniko Noen is popular particularly for their flavorful and full-sized blueberries. The staffs say it is because of their soil that is fertilized with recycled materials such as food waste from the restaurant, so that it is enriched and become suitable environment for blueberry farming.






Nikoniko Noen cultivates as many as 14 different kinds of blueberry species.


The bush is relatively low-- Accessible for children and people on wheelchairs.



Available through July 1st- 31st 
Hours: 9 a.m. to 15 p.m.
Fee: 800 yen (Adult)/ 400 yen (Child)

Take-Home: 200 yen (per 100 gram)
