Lake Tazawa has been a sister lake with the Taiwanese Chengcing lake in Kaohsiung Prefecture. In the recent years, we have been tightening the friendship by providing the people with exchanging opportunities to cultural experiences. A photo exhibition is one of the examples.
Last December, a Tazawako and Semboku City Photo and Poster Exhibition was held near the Taiwanese Chengcing Lake. It was hosted by the Seventh District Management of Taiwanese Water Corporation and held at the travelling residence of Chiang Kai-shek, the first president of the Republic of China.
An opening ceremony of the exhibition was held in December. A group of attendees from Tazawako was led by Mr. Kazushi Sato, CEO of Tsurunoyu Onsen and chairperson of Tazawako Tourism Association. The group received a warmest welcome from the Taiwanese associates and volunteers who made this event possible.

Supported by many local volunteers!
In exchange, we have just opened an exhibition of Chengcing Lake at JR Tazawako Station. Thanks to the Korean Drama, we have a growing number of visitors from overseas. We hope many people, not only the locals, would come and enjoy the photos, and take this opportunity to learn about the lake. So please stop by when you are around!
